Marketing & Business Development Coordinator

Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Position Type: Full-Time

Meet the Brand Behind the Buildings

Peacock Architects is an award-winning, women-led architecture firm with more than 40 years of experience designing spaces that strengthen the communities we serve. With offices in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and North Carolina, our growing team works on educational facilities, municipal and civic buildings, commercial, retail, warehousing, multi-family, parks and recreation spaces, historic preservation, and other community-focused projects.

We believe good work begins with integrity, collaboration, and strong relationships. Our team is hands-on, supportive, and committed to delivering thoughtful design while building a firm where people can learn, contribute, and grow. As we continue expanding our reach, we are looking for someone who can help us share our story, strengthen our relationships, and identify the opportunities that will shape what comes next.

Here’s Where You Come In

Peacock Architects is seeking a creative, organized, and outgoing Marketing & Business Development Coordinator to help communicate who we are, pursue new opportunities, and strengthen our presence within the communities we serve.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both the creative and relationship-building sides of marketing. One day, you may be developing a public-sector proposal in InDesign; the next, you may be coordinating a shortlist presentation, attending an industry luncheon, or helping introduce Peacock Architects to a new client or community partner.

We are looking for someone who can work confidently behind the scenes while also feeling comfortable representing the firm in the marketplace.

Your Mission + What You’ll Make Happen

  • Coordinate and produce RFQ and RFP responses from opportunity identification through final submission.

  • Create polished proposals, presentations, resumes, project sheets, brochures, award submissions, and other marketing materials.

  • Work with firm leadership, Project Managers, and consultants to gather and develop proposal content.

  • Monitor procurement portals and identify opportunities that align with the firm’s experience and goals.

  • Maintain current project information, staff resumes, photography, firm qualifications, certifications, and marketing resources.

  • Track proposal deadlines, results, shortlists, awards, debriefings, and follow-up activities.

  • Prepare shortlist presentations and coordinate interview logistics and rehearsals.

  • Coordinate with the firm’s outside social media and marketing professionals.

  • Attend professional luncheons, networking events, conferences, association meetings, and after-hours functions – independently or with firm leadership.

  • Develop relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, public-sector representatives, and other members of the AEC community.

  • Maintain a calendar of marketing, networking, sponsorship, and business-development opportunities.

  • Coordinate marketing-related meetings, event registrations, schedules, and follow-up for firm leadership.

  • Provide occasional telephone coverage and limited administrative support related to marketing and business-development activities.

The Skills Behind the Story

  • Associate degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • At least three years of experience in marketing, proposal coordination, communications, or business development.

  • Experience in architecture, engineering, construction, planning, or another professional-services environment is strongly preferred.

  • Experience preparing public-sector RFQ and RFP responses is a plus.

  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and visual-communication skills.

  • Excellent organization and the ability to manage multiple deadlines without losing attention to detail.

  • A confident, personable, and professional communication style.

  • Comfort attending networking events independently, initiating conversations, and developing professional relationships.

  • Initiative, accountability, good judgment, and consistent follow-through.

  • Availability to attend occasional early-morning, lunchtime, evening, and after-hours events.

Your Creative Toolkit

  • Adobe InDesign

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro

  • Microsoft Word

  • Microsoft Excel

  • Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Microsoft Outlook

  • Microsoft Teams

Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, Smartsheet, Microsoft SharePoint, social media platforms, and public procurement portals is preferred.

Why You’ll Love It Here

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a meaningful role within a growing architecture firm. You will work closely with firm leadership, gain insight into how projects and client relationships are developed, and help shape how Peacock Architects presents itself in the marketplace.

You will be trusted to bring ideas forward, build relationships, improve our marketing efforts, and help us pursue work that positively impacts the communities we serve. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with the firm and become an important part of where Peacock Architects goes next.

Let’s Build Something Together

If you are a strong communicator who can turn information into a compelling proposal, manage important deadlines, and confidently represent a firm in the community, we would like to hear from you.
